October 12, 2009

New Rights Party demands government to stop using  TV channels  in purpose of propagation.

It is mentioned in the statement which was spread today by New Rights Party.

According to the statement, TV companies spread the information about the member of the experts group of Taliavni Mission that he got fee from the Gasprome on October 7. In previous days TV companies stated that Frank –Walter Steinmeier, the former minister of foreign affairs began to work in Gasprom.

„Unfortunately, the same channels did not spread information about the statement published on October 8 by German  Embassy to correct the incorrect information“.
German embassy categorically refuses the information spread in Georgian Media and hopes that in the future  journalistic mistakes like this will not take place“, said New Rights Party.
It is mentioned here that it did not happen first time,“when the channels controlled by the government spread misinformation is violation of  people’s most important right – to get the trustworthy infomration“.

New Rights Party also considers that TV channels spread misinformation very often;they spread incorrect translation of interviews of the represantatives of  international organizations and diplomatic corps.

„According to the strategic collaboration  chertier formed between Georgia and USA on January 15,2009, the Georgian side was obliged to spread objective information and this information should be  accessebility for everyone. But this obligations are not carried out. We demand the government to stop using TV channels in purpose of propagation. We also request from the head of TV channels to spread  free information “, stated  New Rights Party.
