George Targamadze Requests to Set up Working Group to Study the Issue of “TV-25”

October 20, 2009

George Targamadze the leader of the parliamentary minority requests to set up working group to study the problems related with Batumi based TV-Company TV 25.

Today Targamadze stated about it at the plenary session of the parliament and added that the company has problems with the state. Targamadze said that when our president claims in his interview with CNN that there are 27 independent TV channels in Georgia, the only independent TV-Company is being closed in Batumi.

The MP suggested to set up a working group with members of the parliament and representatives of public defender’s office which will study the problems of TV-25.

Targamadze hopes the parliamentary majority will accept his initiative.

According to Targamadze the Supreme Court has passed judgment in favor of the TV-Company; however tax inspection ignores the judgment and bankrupts the company.
