Journalists and Representatives of Red Cross Visited Georgian Adults Detained in Tskhinvali

Journalists and representatives of the International Committee of Red Cross visited Georgian adults detained in Tskhinvali. News Agency “Res” reported about it.

According to the Agency, the detainees feel well and they are not intimidated physically or psychologically.

According to Ossetian journalists, who visited the detainees in the detention setting, they knew ground for their detention. Georgian adults say they did not have grenades and explosives; they had only food in the bag.

According to Ossetian media, the detainees were informed where so called border is and if a person “crosses the border illegally will be punished.”

They were asked about the purpose of entering South Ossetia and one of the detainees said he wanted to visit his house in the village of Kheiti in Tskhinvali district.

Representatives of the International Committee of Red Cross visited the detainees too.

Four children from the village of Tirdznisi – Giorgi Romelashvili, Aleko Sabadze, Viktor Buchukuri and Levan Khmiadashvili were detained by Ossetian militiamen on November 4. Tskhinvali authority blames them for illegal storage of explosives and illegal crossing of the border.

Georgian side urges international organization for help to release the detained adults.
