Director of JSC “Tbilisi International Airport” Was Sentenced to Two Months Pre-trial Detention

Nato Khujadze, the judge at Tbilisi City Court, sentenced Konstantine Kamushadze, director of the JSC “Tbilisi International Airport” to two months pre-trial detention.

The judge satisfied the suit of the Investigation Department for Revenues to sentence Konstantine Kamushadze to pre-trial detention.

Employees of the Main Department for Particularly Urgent Cases within the Investigation Department for Revenues arrested Kamushadze on November 9 for abusing power.
According to official information, he increased expenses through financial machinations and appropriated 1, 5 million GEL from state. Besides that, Konstantine Kamushadze apportioned 31 thousand GEL personally for him as a salary and bonus. In total he damaged state budget with 1, 5 million GEL. The investigation is launched under the Article 220 of the Criminal Code, which envisages 5 years imprisonment.

Besides Kamushadze, David Kobaidze, the accountant of the JSC, is also arrested under same charge.
