Evicted Family Returned Home

November 17, 2009

Family of Tsetskhladze from the village of Samtatskaro in Dedoplistskaro district was evicted from their house, but soon they returned home. According to Guram Tsetskhladze law enforcement officers gave the family 3 months to resolve their problem.

According to Guram Tsetskhladze, 18 months ago he purchased a house in the village Samtatskaro from Emzar Tsiklauri for which he paid 1 000 USD in advance and had to cover the rest of the money later. However, Tsiklauri sold and registered the house on another person.

“We hold a notification of Tsiklauri which confirms that he really received money. He does not give our money back and the police evicted us from the house according to the demand of the new owner”, said Guram Tsetskhladze. The new owner requested the police to evict the family from the house.

The Tsetskhladzes with five children has nowhere to go. The only income of the family is an allowance within the poverty reduction state program. The family is a eco-migrant from Adjara autonomous republic.

The Human Rights Centre will provide free legal aid for the socially disbled large family.
