MP Gia Tsagareishvili Sues Government of Georgia

November 30, 2009

MP Gia Tsagareishvili from opposition party appealed the court against the government after the latter did not release public information on him. According to him, it is unprecedented fact because no MP has ever sued the government before.

The MP works on the suit together with non-governmental organizations. Meanwhile he is going to invite diplomatic corps and representatives of the government to the parliament. He will inform them that not only ordinary citizens but MPs have their rights breached as well.

As for public information, Gia Tsagareishvili has been requesting the information about the expenditure from the reserve fund of the president; he also requested the information about the property, which was assigned to legal or private persons. The MP had also appealed to the ministry of Refugees and Accommodation and requested information about IDPs in compact settlements.

Gia Tsagareishvili states the Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation with Koba Subeliani as a minister hides information, because they already work on falsification of elections.

Tsagareishvili will appeal to the Prime Minister Nika Gilauri on November 26 and will request the abovementioned information.

More precisely, the suit will be filled against Minister of Finance Kakha Baindurashvili, Minister of Economic Development Zurab Pololikashvili and Minister of Refugees and Accommodation Koba Subeliani.
