The Gas Followed Saakashvili from Vazisubani Village

November 30, 2009

The residents of the village of Vazisubani in Gurjaani District request gas-supply in their village. According to the villagers, President Mikheil Saakashvili released the gas in the building of public school several days before the presidential elections and congratulated the residents with the gas supply. However, as soon as the president left the village, the gas was turned off.

“When the president Mikheil Saakashvili was here, they promised the entire village will be supplied with gas within two months. Two years have passed since then and we do not have gas yet. Furthermore, they dig out the old gas pipes and sold them as scrap-iron”, stated the residents of the village of Vazisubani.

According to Ilia Tkavashvili, chief engineer of Gurjaani Gas Distribution Company, the gasification of the village is planned for 2010. However, it is strange how the candidate Mikheil Saakashvili released the gas in the school before the elections?
