Russian Experts Were Not Allowed into Georgia

Russian experts were not allowed into Georgia. This information was confirmed by the Experts Club. Russian Experts arrived in Tbilisi from Yerevan however in Tbilisi Airport they were not allowed to continue their way in Georgia.

Expert of the Caucasus Research Center at the Moscow Institute for International Relations Nikolai Silaev and director of the Archive of the Russian Federation Sergei Mironenko were not allowed to enter Georgia. After that, three more members of the group, deputy director of the Institution of the World Economy and International Relation at the Russian Scientific Academy Vladimer Baranovski, leading scientist of the institute for Scientific Information and Public Sciences of the Russian Science Academy Aleksandre Miler and advisor to the rector of the Moscow State University of International Relations Artiom Malgin were not allowed into the country as well. They returned to Moscow via Yerevan.

On December 1-3 Russian experts had meetings in Tbilisi at Russian Research Center and Experts Club.

Before his departure to Tbilisi expert Nikolai Silaev said in Moscow the meetings would not be only about Russian-Georgian relationships but they will also speak about directions and perspectives of cooperation between Georgian and Russian scientist-experts.

Political scientist Soso Tsiskarishvili said, denial to Russian experts to enter Georgia shall not be commented because it can express much more than commenting on it. 

“Apparently, our MPs think everybody are as hesitant as they are; they move from one to another party very easily,” answered Soso Tsiskarishvili to the question  - Would not it be better to allow the Russian experts in Georgia and hear principle positions of Georgian experts about very important issues?”
