MIA Does not Comment on the Release of Ossetian Prisoners

Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia does not comment on the information spread by news agency “OsInform” which states that Georgian side released 5 Ossetian prisoners.

Head of analytic department of the MIA Shota Utiashvili said the ministry will not make comments on this fact yet.

According to the news agency “OsInform”, Georgian side released five Ossetian people detained during the war in August of 2008. Human Rights Commissionaire of the CoE Thomas Hammarberg took them to Tskhinvali today.

According to the same agency, the released detainees are: Ibragim Laliev, Lavrent Kaziev, Iakob Tekhov, Vladimer Eloev and Pavlik Tekhov.

State Minister of Georgia for Reintegration Temur Iakobashvili stated he does not know whether Hammarberg has taken anybody to Tskhinvali in exchange of the freedom of children from Tirdznisi.
