Dachi Tsaguria Requests 3 Million Euro

On December 7 a suit “Dachi Tsaguria VS Georgia” will be submitted to Strasbourg Human Rights Court. Dachi Tsaguria and his attorney Mamuka Nozadze stated about it at the press-conference in the office of Former Political Prisoners for Human Rights.

Mamuka Nozadze said on June 15 Article 6 of the European Convention was breach in regard with Dachi Tsaguria was blatantly breached during the dispersal of peaceful demonstration in front of Tbilisi Police Main Department. More precisely, freedom of expression was breached and he was tortured during detention.

According to Nozadze, Dachi Tsaguria and his friends appealed to Georgian law enforcement bodies several times in vain. Their only hope is at European Human Rights Court.

Dachi Tsaguria said he is not going to forgive governmental officials and other people, who insulted, assaulted and tortured him. He hopes European Court will satisfy his appeal and in near future the violators will be punished.

Dachi Tsaguria requests 3 million Euro as a compensation of his moral and physical damage.
