Chamber of Control Prepared Conclusion on Wasted Millions

According to the conclusion of the Chamber of Control, the Ministry of Agriculture wasted millions of GEL allocated for “melioration program”.

Representatives of the Chamber of Control state, that according to the conclusion, the companies, which won the competition, used second-hand or amortized pipes for the rehabilitation of the melioration system.

“Consequently, the pipes went wrong in several districts and water-flood destroyed the harvest of the population. Besides that, important part of the scheduled activities was not implemented or was done so poorly that it is impossible to see its positive results. Besides that, additional 8 million GEL was registered in documents without any explanations for the rehabilitation of four more systems,” stated the conclusion of the Chamber of Control.

Initial price of melioration program in the state budget was 4 800 000 GEL. Later, with the initiative of the executive government the parliament increased the budget up to 14 million GEL.
