The Protest Rally Is Planned In front of the Office of Chief Prosecutor

Non- governmental organizations are going to hold a protest rally in front of the office of chief prosecutor. According to the Kakheti Region office of Human Rights Centre, the employees of Sighnaghi District police abused their official duties and they have beaten citizens, but the office of chief prosecutor has not reacted on the fact.
According to the information of Human Rights Centre, Otar Dighmelashvili, the deputy head of Sighangi District Police Department, beat Gela Kutibashvili, a citizen, and broke 12 teeth of his and jaw; after that he was arrested with the accusations of resisting the police. Despite the several appeals of Kutibashvili, they promoted Dighmelashvili from the district department to the Kakheti Region main department of MIA.
“Levan Kharatishvili and Otar Topchishvili, employees of Sighahi Police Department, beat strictly 23-year-old Guram Bagalishvili in Tsnori on January 1. They broke the head of Bagalishvili in three places with a gun. Kharatishvili and Topchishvili were only fired from the job, when there is an abundant amount proof for their detention,” stated the human rights organizations.
