The Case of Tsotne Gamsakhrudia Was Sent to the Court

January 18, 2010

The criminal case of Tsotne Gamsakhrudia was sent to the court. According to Keti Bekauri, the lawyer for Gamsakhurdia, she has not had the opportunity to look through the case in the court. She also stated that the trial is not scheduled yet.
“There are two criminal cases against Gamsakhrudia in the court. One is new and another is old, which is about the events of November 2007 and also about his connection with Russia. These two cases should be united and then the trial will be scheduled”, stated Bekauri.
According to her, Tsotne Gamsakhurdia has been starving in the prison hospital for 22 days. He felt worse two days ago-his pressure fell down. His condition is better after the medical aid.
Gamsakhurdia is sentenced to pre-trial detention. He is accused of trying to kill somebody, as well buying-possessing and carrying the gun illegally.
