Konstantine Gamsakhurdia: “Zviad Gamsakhurdia Was Killed and Money Was Paid for His Murder”

January 26, 2010

First president of Georgia was killed and certain amount of money was paid for it. It became clear at the meeting between the head of parliamentary commission for the estimation of real reasons of Gamsakhurdia’s death Konstantine Gamsakhurdia and former defense minister of Georgia Tengiz Kitovani on January 25.

After the meeting, Konstantine Gamsakhurdia said: “apparently, information about suicide of Gamsakhurdia is false and he was killed.”

“Today’s meeting was very interesting; we found out that Zviad Gamsakhurdia was killed and he was persecuted by government. We also found out that certain amount of money was paid for his liquidation,” said the MP. However, he did not unclose more details about the meeting. Kitovani did not make any comments after the meeting.

Konstantine Gamsakhurdia, together with commission member Bezhan Khurtsidze and expert Mikheil Osadze visited Russia and met former high-ranking officials of law enforcement bodies of Georgia Shota Kviraia, Tengiz Kitovani and Igor Giorgadze; the latter is sought by Interpol.
