Activities of Russian Soldiers Turned into Hunting on People

February 4, 2010

Official Tbilisi categorically protests activities of Russian occupants and Ossetian separatists and requests immediate return of Georgian citizen who was kidnapped in Nikozi village.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia assessed the fact as a continuation of extremely dangerous activities provoked by Russia and states that behavior of Russian soldiers turned into hunting on people.

“Despite Geneva negotiations and agreement on incident prevention and agreement on the response mechanisms, which aims at immediate release of citizens who accidentally cross administrative border, Malkhaz Akhvlediani has not been released yet. It is a violation of the achieved agreements. Kremlin implements its insidious plans through their puppet regime, which aims to complicate situation on neighboring territories of occupied regions of Georgia,” it was said in the statement of Foreign Ministry.

Malkhaz Akhvlediani resident of Chiatura was kidnapped near the village of Nikozi by Ossetian separatists on January 31. He was accused in illegal crossing of the so called border.
