Sarkozy Announced His Confidence into Russia Publicly

French President Nikola Sarkozy publicly announced his confidence into Russia. Sarkozy announced the opinion of France about the political regime of Dimitry Medvedev and Vladimer Putin at the press-conference together with his Russian colleague.

“How can we tell Russia that we need their support in peace-building and in the settlement of critical situations throughout the world but not trust them,” said Sarkozy while commenting on negotiations about selling the Mistral to Russia; he added that “France will build Mistral for Russia without military equipment.”

Dimitry Medvedev also spoke about the “confidence between Russia and France”. According to Russian president, issue of Mistral, which became very resonant and caused various opinions, is symbol of confidence between two states; on the other hand – there is possibility for Russia to purchase equipments which they do not have now and want to create them through the cooperation with other countries.”

Moscow and Paris have officially started exclusive negotiations on Mistral – cargo-ship for 4 aircrafts. We kindly remind you that Dimitry Medvedev has been on his official visit in France and will arrive in Moscow on March 4.
