Citizens Canno Meet District Governors

March 17, 2010

Socially disabled people cannot meet district governors. Governors do not receive citizens even in official reception days.

Plora Bachadze, resident of the village of Bakurtsikhe, unsuccessfully tries to meet Gurjaani district governor for already three weeks.

“Governor officially receives citizens on Tuesdays. Its already three weeks I have been unsuccessfully trying to meet him. Every time I come here I am told that he is not at work. His deputies are not in the office either. I am in a very difficult situation. My brother needs operation and I request a single financial aid. I am told to write and leave statement, but I am sure that if I do not meet governor personally and explain my problem they will throw my statement into a recycle bin,” said Plora Bachadze.

There are large queues in the reception-room of the district governor every working day.
