“Only 300 out of 700 People Remained Alive”

April 29, 2010
Leaders of the Christian-Democratic Party arrived in Rustavi for pre-election campaign. The locals informed them about their problems and complaints. The leader of the parliamentary minority Giorgi Targamadze introduced 10 single mandate candidates for the municipality elections from their party.

The guests from the opposition party received information about many problems which are urgent in Rustavi. The retired people – former workers of the metallurgic factory who received professional traumas – were particularly active.

“We have been requesting our pensions for 5 years already. The metallurgic factory was responsible to pay our pensions but we have not received anything yet. Our total number was 700 people and now only 300 people remained. The rest died of age or of diseases. If your party members assist us, we will vote for them,” said one of the retired metallurgists Vazha Samkharadze.
