More than 90 % of Election Commission Members Represent the Government

The representatives of the Ozurgeti district office of the Movement for the Just Georgia said that the lists of the commission members in the polling stations do not represent reality.

They said that there were 61 280 voters in Ozurgeti district during the elections in 1990. According to the new list sent by the CEC, the number of the voters increased up to 65 421 people. Nevertheless, the Movement for the Just Georgia carried out the survey in Ozurgeti district and found 1 800 abandoned houses. The polling stations were opened and the election lists were posted where the residents of those houses are also on the list. The Movement also discovered the names of dead people.

Representatives of the Movement for the Just Georgia state that almost every opposition party assigned their quotas to the ruling party in the election commission except several parties. After that, the commissions were made up of the public servants and at the moment more than 90 % commission members representing the government.
