Court To Find Out Whether Journalist Hit Axe to the Village Commissary

May 11, 2010
Dedoplistskaro district court discusses private suit against the journalist of the local newspaper “Kiziki” Tamila Gurashvili. Former commissary of the village of Ozani Gocha Kachashvili blames her in physical assault.

The incident happened on March 3, 2010 near the Dedoplistskaro Culture Center. The correspondent tried to take photo of the village commissary but Kachashvili refused and insulted the journalist. He tried to seize the photo-camera. During the quarrel, the mobile phone of the journalist broke. Gurashvili said she wanted to escape the harasser and hit him with the note-book.

Kachashvili claims the opposite. He said Gurahsivli hit him with axe and broke his nose. Kachashvili appealed to the district police department to launch the investigation. After the investigation finished, the prosecutor’s office sent the case materials to the court.

Judge Tamar Chuniashvili at the Dedopliststskaro district court discusses the case.
