Tamaz Abramishvili Was Dismissed from the Election HQ of the National Movement

May 14, 2010
Employee of the Gurjaani district administration Tamaz Abramishvili, who was on holiday and worked in the Gurjaani district HQ of the ruling party, was dismissed from the HQ because of interference in the professional activities of the journalist.

This information was confirmed by the representative of the National Movement Zakaria Iaganashvili. The head of the Gurjaani district HQ of the ruling party Kakha Mosulishvili does not comment on it. He does not respond to the phone calls of journalists.

We kindly remind you that Tamaz Abramishvili interfered in the professional activities of the correspondent of the Kakheti News Center Tamar Kviriashvili.

The journalist was taking photos of the public servants who were leaving the HQ of the National Movement; they were not on holiday. At that moment, Tamaz Abramishvili insulted her and tried to physically assault her. The journalist had to leave the area to avoid the harassment.

“Before the incident I managed to take photos of the interim head of the district administration office Lela Javakhishvili when she left the office. Besides that, the cars, owned by the state companies, were standing near the HQ office; the candidates of the ruling party still use those cars. When they saw me taking the photos, they did not allow me to continue my activities,” said Tamar Kviriashvili.

Former chairman of the Gurjaani district municipality board Zakaria Iaganashvili witnessed the incident. He is candidate of the National Movement. The journalist said Iaganashvili did not react on her requests to stop Abramishvili who was interfering in her professional activities.
