Observers of the Human Rights Center Request to Stop Election Procedure in the Polling Station # 1 in Lagodekhi District

May 30, 2010
In the polling station # 1 in Lagodekhi district, single mandate candidate in Lagodekhi district and MP Guram Kakalashvili illegally entered the election booth. Kakalashvili is the chairman of the Lagodekhi district election HQ of the National Movement and despite several requests of the observers he could not provide the certificate to prove his right to enter the booth.

Observer of the Human Rights Center reported to the Kakheti News Center that Guram Kakalashvili gives directives to the chairman of the PS election commission Adalat Sardarov; he orders him to act in accordance to his directives and the chairman also obeys the MP.

“There are strange people in the PS who do not have right to be in,” reported the observer of the Human Rights Center.

In the PS # 1 of Lagodekhi district, the control paper was dropped into the ballot box without marking the first voter. The observers have filed complaint and requested to stop the election procedure in the PS # 1 of Lagodekhi district.
