Chiatura DEC Has Not Received Complaints

First incident at the polling station # 23 in Chiatura District Election Commission (DEC) # 56 occurred at 1:00 pm during the municipal elections. Observer of the Christian-Democrat Movement and a voter had argument because of dropping a ballot paper in the ballot box.

Chairperson of the PS # 23 informed the DEC about the incident. However, when the DEC members arrived at the precinct, the incident was already eradicated. The observer of the Christian-Democrat Movement had not filed complaint.

Chairman of the Chiatura DEC # 56 Mamuka Samkharadze said: “It was the only incident which happened in Chiatura on the Election Day. We have not received any complaints.”

By 12:00 pm the turnout of the voters on May 30 was 17, 8 %. Final turnout was 41, 8 %. 46 448 voters were registered in the district.

The final results of the elections in the Chiatura district is the following: 61, 1 % -National Movement; 18, 7 % Christian Democrat Party and 5, 1 % -Alliance for Georgia. The rest votes were distributed among different political parties.
