Judge Did Not Satisfy Appeal of the Opposition Parties in Senaki

June 4, 2010

Representatives of the opposition parties and organization “Fair Elections” filed 8 complaints to the Senaki District Election Commission (DEC) # 64 regarding the violations observed during the municipal elections.

All eight complaints were about the violations observed at the polling station (PS) # 20. On June 3, Judge at the District Court Davit Kekenadze discussed two of the three complaints; the suitors requested to annul the election results at the PS # 20. They claimed the number of the ballot papers in the portable box was more than people were registered in the special list. Shortcomings were discovered in the final results too.

Judge Kekenadze did not satisfy the abovementioned complaint. Representatives of the opposition parties and Fair Elections intend to appeal to higher court against the judgment.
