Georgian and Spanish Law Enforcement Officials Lobbed Interests of Narcotraffic and Kalashov

June 9, 2010
In regard with the famous case of narco-cartel a set of documentary materials might be published in the near future. Those materials will demonstrate the exchange of information between Georgian and Spanish law-enforcement officials to protect the interests of the influential criminal Shakro Kalashov.

News Agency “Pirveli” has reported by its source from the parliament that “there are documents which demonstrate the correspondence between Georgian and Spanish law enforcement officials to protect the interests of Shakro Kalashov 2-3 years ago. The correspondence is in Spanish language and corresponding Georgian institution is studying those documents.”

Reportedly, it is the time when Erekle Kodua was the head of the Special Operative Department in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Several days ago, the source reported to the “Pirveli” that influential criminal Tengiz Gurchiani, arrested as a result of special operation of the MIA, is a friend of Erekle Kodua.

“The narco-traffic was lobbed in exchange of huge sums. I mean several million US dollars,” reported the source from a parliament who does not exclude the possibility of sending several high-ranking officials to prison.

The News Agency “Pirveli” tried to find out the situation at the MIA; but nobody answered their phone calls at the Ministry. Deputy Minister of internal affairs Eka Zghuladze, who is on business leave in France, does not have information about it.

“I can neither deny nor confirm this information because I am in France now and I do not have information about it,” Zghuladze reported to the “Pirveli.”
