The protest demonstration followed the surrounding of a territory in the central boulevard in Kutaisi. Local representatives of the opposition parties protested the preliminary constructions in the boulevard. They said the constructions shall be stopped in the central boulevard because it is a culture monument of the city. Moreover, similar activities are banned by the law.
Reportedly, the construction of the information center of the parliament is planned in the area and it shall be finished in the near future.
Members of the society “Garden Edge” and ordinary citizens of Kutaisi joined the protest demonstration.
The officials of the Kutaisi City Hall do not comment on the fact.
