June 10, 2010
Four teachers of the public school in the village of Balghojiani in Kvareli district also have their functions suspended because of the accusations against the school director in having attempted to rape a school-girl. Those four teachers blamed the director in the attempted crime.

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkin stated that the school director Zurab Tabagari is resigned from his position.

“A criminal investigation was launched on this fact. Our general inspection has also taken up the case and they actively cooperate with the prosecutor’s office,” said Shashkin.

Based on the appeals of several teachers at school, the Kvareli district police started investigation under Article 141 of the Criminal Code of Georgia – “depraved behavior”. Gurjaani district prosecutor’s office supervises the investigation process. The officials of the prosecutor’s office stated that criminal prosecution has not started against Tabagari yet.

Zurab Tabagari is accused in the attempt of rape of a school-girl. The TV-Company “Imedi” spread the information about the fact in the morning news program.
