Epremidze Blames School Director in Persecution

June 24, 2010
Teacher of the Poti Public School # 5 Irina Epremidze blames the school director Nana Topuria in persecution. Epremidze said the disagreement started after she - member of the Board of Trustees, did not vote for the candidate Topuridze for the position of the director. At that time, Epremidze was deputy director at school and after Nana Topuridze became director she was resigned without explanations.

The disagreement continued at the court; the defense side was ordered to restore Irina Epremidze on her old position. However, Nana Topuridze did not bother herself to execute the court decision until Poti prosecutor’s office and president’s administration interfered in the problem.

Irina Epremidze was restored on her position at the public school # 5. Short time later she resigned from the position of deputy director based on her personal decision. She continues her activities as a teacher at school. Simultaneously, she is in charge of the children’s care issues in the social agency.

However, the professional problem of Irina Epremidze did not finish with it. She said several days ago, the director informed her that her working hours were reduced. Irina Epremidze blames the director in discrimination. Topuria does not comment on the fact. Her deputy Gia Lomaia said that reduction of working hours resulted from high number of teachers of Russian language and literature at school. Epremidze does not believe their arguments and is not going to surrender.
