Christian-Democrats Blame Koba Subeliani of Telling Lies

July 13, 2010

Christian-Democrats request the presence of the Minister of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Refugees and Accommodation, Koba Subeliani, to Parliament for the purpose of hearing his explanation for the “lies” he has uttered.

The MP from the Christian-Democrat Party, Giorgi Akhvlediani, said at a special session today that soon after the elections, IDPs realized they had been seriously deceived.

He said before the municipal elections that the Tbilisi mayoral candidate, Gigi Ugulava, told IDPs that every IDP is a resident of Tbilisi and the capital will take care of them.

Akhvlediani recalled the minister to promising IDPs that they lived with the right to their private properties and that their accommodations will be registered to them.  The MP mentioned examples how this promise had been breached.

According to Akhvlediani, three days ago, 20 families were taken to the village of October in the Zugdidi district of Tbilisi; there they will not have suitable living conditions.

The same is the situation is true for the hotel “Kiziki” in the Gurjaani district. There the state owns 96 per cent of the hotel.

Akhvlediani requested Koba Subeliani to come before the parliament immediately and give explanations for his false promises.
