Peace Appeal of “Georgian Women”

April 29, 2008

We stand against violence. We want to live an honorable life in peaceful environment. Conflicts must only be resolved through peaceful talks!

We urge Georgian Government to start peaceful negotiations with our Abkhazian and Ossetian brothers and sisters. The aim of all politicians-Georgian, Abkhazian and Ossetian must be peace because the war and bloodshed only represents sacrifice and betrayal in the future of our children and country. The life and happiness of each person is precious. It is unbearable to endure the war again with all its death, rape, torture and degradation of people.

We know that our Abkhazian and Ossetian sisters have endured the same pain and their hearts are also in pain.  We hope they can also love and forgive us. We hope they also want peace and we urge them to call upon their leaders to start peaceful negotiations.

We believe that the construction of a peace that is based on long-term, successive, multilateral effort and it is main interest of all of us, and not only politicians should be the ones to take part in the process. We must not allow war, death, misfortune and destruction to ever happen again.

We call upon everybody, all men and women to please join us in struggling for peace.
