The Human Rights Center Statement
The Human Rights Center condemns the assault and dispersal of the journalists in front of the Tbilisi Main Police Department.
As it was reported, journalists were also ruthlessly beaten alongside the demonstrators by the policemen who went out of the building of the Main Police Department.
Journalist Teona Laliashvili and camera-man Sergi Baramidze for the TV Company “Maestro were assaulted; camera was seized from the film-crew of the TV-Company “Kavkasia.”
The Human Rights Center is concerned about the violence against journalists. The Organization calls upon all corresponding agencies to react on the incident immediately in accordance to the law.
