The Christian-Democratic Party Calls Down Government Policy in Relation to IDP Resettlement

July 16, 2010

The Christian-Democratic Party has once again called down the meaningless government policy on IDP resettlement.
Representative of the party, Giorgi Akhvlediani, stated today at a special parliamentary session that the ministry of IDPs from occupied territories and resettlement is carrying out a completely meaningless and unwarranted policy in contrary to pre-election promises.
According to Akhvlediani, IDPs temporarily residing on Atoneli street in Tbilisi were taken to the village Octomberi only to find that the housing there was sub-standard and inappropriate for living.
The MP emphasized that several houses are being repaired in the same village but it has already been promised to IDPs currently living there. “In addition to throwing people in the streets you have put them against each other”, Akhvlediani stated. This he stated is what will happen if the policy for legalization for housing and resettlement is non-existent at the ministry.
