Human Rights Center critizes Gurjaani Office of the Prosecutor for not conducting Investigation of Election Fraud .

July 29, 2010
NGO, the Human Rights Center, critizes the Regional Office of the Gurjaani Prosecutor, in the village of Kabal located in the Lagodekhi district, for not conducting an investigation of local government election fraud.

According to a statement made by the Human Rights Organization’s lawyer, Lia Khuroshvili, the Prosecutor’s Office intiated an investigation on June 3, 2010. However, the witnesses of the investigation have yet to be interrogated.

According to the Human Rights Center’s information, observers witnessed instances of such misconduct as putting campaign bulletins in the election boxes, multiple voting by the same electors, the “participation” of people that were currently abroad, etc.

A criminal legal case has now resulted as stipulated by article 164 prima of the Criminal Legal Code of Georgia.
