20 employees released from #20 Kardenakhi Public School

August 6, 2010
The principal of #20 Public School in Kardenakhi of the Gurjaani Municipality, Maka GliGvashvili, released 20 people from their positions. More than 10 are teachers and some are administrative representatives.

As the former staff of the school informed the Kakheti Information Center, the school’s principal explained that a notice about the staff reduction was made by the Gurjaani Educational Resource Center. This center received its instructions and commands from the Ministry of Education and Science.

The Kakheti Information Center was unable to contact the Kardenakhi Public School principal.

“Nobody forewarned us about the possible firing of teachers at public schools. Before the start of each academic year, the school’s principal determines the staff schedule and he/she can make changes. The principals determine the quality of teachers and decide who can contribute to the school’s development,” stated the Gurjaani Educational Resource Center’s Director, Lali Gabitashvili.
