August 13, 2010
On March 13th, the family of an IDP from Abkhazia Iza Gvajai was evicted from so-called Isani military hospital. The private residence house of this citizen was the victim of the construction of the President’s Avlabari residence.
As Gvajaia told journalists, she was accommodated in the hospital by the Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation after she was moved out of her Avlabari house for the reason of the construction of President’s residence and moved to the place rented by the government, later they stopped paying her rent.
“I’m asking President to give my house back, the house where he’s luxuriously residing, and we are thrown out in the streets with our children and elders,” – stated Kajaia. According to her, she has never been given the promised compensation. And the court case has been going on for 6 years now.
