Former employees of the hotel “Medea” asking for their salaries

August 25, 2010
25 former employees of the hotel “Medea” have been waiting for their salaries for years now. No state department admits the debt owed to them. It’s unknown who’ll pay the 23 thousand lari belonged to the former employees.
After the IDPs were accommodated in the hotel “Medea,” 25 employed people continued their working terms. They were supposed to receive monthly payment 25 lari for serving the IDPs but for the last 4 years they’ve been working with no compensation.
Aziz Chkheidze, the former official of the hotel “Medea:” “Each of us needs to receive money. We addressed the Minister of Finance and Economics, Vaja Bolqvadze, regarding this matter, who told us that this issue doesn’t belong to his competence. The Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation refused as well. We can’t find out whose competence this matter belongs to.”
The former hotel employees have been trying to receive this money since 2005 without result. The staff addressed all the relevant state departments with hope of getting their money back, though without result.
