Russia Accuses Georgia in Training of Terrorists

September 6, 2010
Russia accuses Georgia in training of terrorists - Nikolai Simakov, the deputy head of the main department of the North Caucasus Federal Oblast within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported to the “Vremia Novostei” newspaper.
According to Simakov, in the North Caucasus “Boeviks” are trained in Georgian territory in special camps.
“We have information that there are special camps in Georgia where “Boeviks” are being trained. Criminals from Caucasus and Europe are gathered there; they are trained and sent to neighboring countries”, Simakov declared.
As he mentions, there was a clash on the Russian-Azerbaijan border which resulted into the death of one Azerbaijan frontier guard. One terrorist was killed and two were arrested.
“The interrogation cleared up that they had right to live in Austria and France. Extremist organizations recruited them and sent to Georgia to prepare them for further activities on Russian territory”, Simakov said.
