Sokhumi Regime Suppressed Broadcasting of Georgian TV-Companies

Sokhumi regime suppressed broadcasting of Georgian TV Companies in Gali district. The “Kavkazskii Uzel” reported about it.

According to the newspaper, employees of the so called supervision office of the state communication department of Sokhumi regime dismantled the transmitters of the Georgian TV-Companies from the area of Enguri Hydro Electro Station in Gali district.

The head of the supervision office Beslan Xalvashi stated that two transmitters were removed from the area.

According to his clarification, the owner organizations of the transmitters and institutions should get registered for the permission on radio-electronic broadcasting.

“Only those TV-Companies are allowed to broadcast on Abkhazian territory who were registered and hold license on broadcasting. Since Georgian TV- channels do not hold corresponding license their broadcasting is illegal;”Khalvashi stated
