18-Year-Old Otar Rusishvili Needs Urgent Operation

September 23, 2010
18-year-old Otar Rusishvili from Kvareli urgently needs operation on Sarcoma which can be done only in Germany. The total price of the operation is 10 000 Euro but the family cannot afford it. The mother Nana Gurgenishvili has petitioned to the ministry of labor, healthcare and social welfare of Georgia for funding but the ministry refused them.

The representatives of the ministry suggested the family to appeal to the government of Georgia. “Who will allow me to reach the government; I have sent letter to them but nobody replied yet,” said Nana Gurgenishvili.

The sarcoma was diagnosed on Otar Rusishvili on May 17. Afterwards, he was operated in Tbilisi and the tumor was removed; the family also funded four chemotherapy courses but one more operation is necessary to save his life; it can be done only in Germany.

“We hoped the ministry of healthcare would assist us but they refused. I do not want to die. Maybe somebody will pay attention to my problem in the government and assist me,” said Otari.

The bank account is opened in the Bank of Georgia for Otar Rusishvili. The account number is:
GE78BG0000000269669300

Otar Rusishvili is a promising student at the economic faculty of the Tbilisi State University. Last year he successfully passed national exams and took 100 % of the state grant for the education.
