Somali Pirates Threaten to Sink the Ship and to Kill Georgian Sailors

The “Greenwich” Company, whose ship was captured together with the Georgian sailors by Somali pirates, is going to sell their two ships to ransom the Georgian sailors.

The representatives of the Sailors Trade Union reported to the “Interpresmews” that, according to the spread information, the company plans to sell their ships to pay ransom money for the hostages.

The head of the “Greenwich” Company Sergo Devadze reported that the negotiation with the pirates is deadlocked. The attorney of the company offered the final sum to the pirates. But they did not accept the offer and threaten with sinking the ship and killing of the sailors.

The family members of the captured sailors are holding a protest rally in front of the Supreme Council of Adjara Autonomous Republic; they request assistance of the government.
 
The sailors from Batumi-Memed Zakaradze, Shalva Verdzadze, Davit Devadze,Temur Bedinadze, Zurab Shervashidze, Giorgi Siradze, Jaba Karchava, Nukri Jijavadze, Irakli Jikidze, Temur Varshanidze. Anzor Partenadze, Aslan Demuradze, Jimsher Asanidze, Temur Makharadze and Genadi Tiimofeev have been captured more than two months. One more sailor -Oleg Nodia was captured a week ago.
