Pikria Chikhradze: “We Know Nothing about Jorjadze’s Request for Politial Asylum”

New Rights Party does not have information about Telavi Regional Organization member Archil Jorjadze’s request for political asylum, stated one of the leaders of the party Pikria Chikhradze.

Archil Jorjadze, Telavi Regional Organization member of New Rights Party, the former coordinator of law faculty of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University addressed the German government with the request for political asylum. While talking to the radio Hereti Jorjadze stated: “I have been oppressed while living in Georgia as well, however, after coming to Spain, the so-called “people with good wishes” contact me and threaten me with the arrest in case I go back.”

Archil Jorjadze does not specify who exactly threatens him. According to him, in case of receiving political asylum, he will move to Germany with his family.

In the 2008 parliamentary elections, Archil Jorjadze was the lawyer of the election headquarter of Pikria Chikhradze, the majority deputy of New Rights Party in Telavi. While working on this post, he requested dismissal from the university. According to Jorjadze, he was warned that the university would have problems unless he left his job. Jorjadze left for Spain in 2009 to continue his studies. He lives there with his mother.
