Free Democrats Are Starting to Study the Criminal Cases

November 30, 2010

Free Democrats are starting to study the completed criminal cases in order to reveal the illegal prisoners in Georgia.
This process will be headed by the deputy head of the political party Tea Tsulukiani who has been working in Strasbourg Court for 10 years on the similar cases.

As Tsulukiani stated at the press conference held in the office of the political party on November 30th, the first prisoner declared to be illegal will be Gvantsa Kuparadze. According to her, the thorough study of Kuparadze case reveals that none of the instances of courts examined the case thoroughly and she was found guilty groundlessly. Georgian courts acted irresponsible in this case, according to Tsulukidze.

Free Democrats representative reminded the National Movement that the case of Gvantsa Kuparadze is sent to Strasbourg Court and it has been granted the priority.

“Kuparadze complaint has a big perspective on victory. Government should come to its minds and pardon this prisoner,” – noted Tsulukiani. However, as she thinks the Kuparadze’s pardon is not the main thing for development of Georgian state. The main thing is the reexamination of her case and revealing truth.

The legal inference drawn out by Free Democrats will be sent to the diplomatic corpus and the international organizations. 14-year-old Gvantsa Kuparadze was arrested in 2006 for the attempt of deliberate murder. She was sentenced to ten years in prison. Five years must be served conditionally.
