Plots Are Being Deprived in Tusheti

December 10, 2010

Supervision Department at Akhmeta district administration started process of depriving plots from citizens in Tusheti. Administrative protocol was already drawn up on Vazha Shabalaidze in the village of Omalo. Kakheti News Center was informed that Vazha Shabalaidze owns a hotel in Omalo and the MP from the Akhmeta district Petre Tsiskarishvili is interested to get hold of it.

Kakheti News Center tried to get in touch with Tsiskarishvili several times but could not.

The head of the supervision department Givi Khitarishvili said the plots will be deprived only from those people who have grabbed the plots illegally.

“The plots are frequently grabbed in Tusheti,” said the Akhmeta district governor Koba Maisuradze.

Resident of Omalo village Vazha Shabalaidze said the district administration officials illegally drew up a protocol on him. “I cannot say anything more,” he said.

The Kakheti News center was informed that most of the population has not registered their plots and even houses at the Public Registry. The local people have appealed to the commission for property rights several times but the commission members said they are not working on the issues related with Tusheti region.

We got in touch with the Kakheti region deputy governor Petre Kiknadze and asked his comment on the fact but he did not make any comments because of being busy.
