The IDPs Protesting in front of the Parliament

December 17, 2010
The protest rally of IDPs is underway in front of the Parliament participated by the representatives of NGOs and opposition parties. Sozar Subar, the head of the Georgian Party is present at the protest rally, the head of the Conservative Party Zviad Dzidziguri, the member of Conservative Party Lasha Chkhartishvilim, the member of People’s Party Aleko Shalamberidze and the representatives of the Public Council are present as well.

As the head of the Human Rights Center Ucha Nanuashvili stated to Interpressnews, government picked advantageous time for eviction of IDPs since the foreign diplomats and the representatives of international organizations are leaving country for holidays.

According to him, eviction of IDPs in August was stipulated due to the absence of foreigners in Georgia. According to Ucha Nanuashvili, the eviction took place illegally, violating the legal procedures since the warnings that were yielded to them were unsigned and had no stamp.
According to him, IDPs cannot submit complaint against such warning. It is unknown what governmental body it is sent by and who can be asked the concrete answer.
