The Tax Departments able of Secret Tracking without the Consent of Court

December 24, 2010
The tax departments will be able to secretly track without the consent of Court. This decision of Parliament will enter into force since January 1st of 2011.

As the legislation body notes the basis of the decision is crime eradication since sometimes there is not enough time to address the judge in practice and it brings damages to the case.

According to the authors of the legislative amendment, setting secret camera without the consent of judge should be able only on the basis of operative information and reasonable doubt.

As one of the initiators of the amendment, the deputy Giorgi Godabrelidze stated to Interpressnews, it is wrong to set a camera in the cellar during chronometrage, but if someone has operative information, he/she should be able to use it.

Example of such operative information was named to be the entering of illegal goods to the customs service by Godabrelidze.

According to him, in this case, time is lost before getting the judge’s permission. “I can stop the goods, but if I set the camera, I will be able to track another person and prevent more crimes while these illegal goods are being detained,” – added Godabrelidze.
