Dedoplistskaro Court Rejects the Complaint Submitted against the Journalist

December 30, 2010
The judge Shorena Kavelashvili of Dedoplistskaro Regional Court rejected the complaint of Dedoplistskaro Municipality Council member Gela Tetrauli against the journalist Ilia Martkoplishvili. The member of Municipality Council blames the journalist in a slander and demands the public denial of the information disseminated by him.

In the beginning Tetrauli was requesting 10 000 GEL as a compensation of moral damages. Later he decreased the amount of money to 3 thousand GEL. Eventually, he declined this request and just asked for the public denial of the disseminated information. According to him, the journalist numerous times groundlessly convicted him in the appropriation of budget money that morally damaged him.

The journalist Ilia Markoplishvili rejected Tetrauli’s complaint and requested from the judge not to satisty it.

The judge Shorena Kavelashvili declared her decision on December 29th and rejected the complaint of the Municipality Council member.

Gela Tetrauli states that he will appeal against the decision of regional court in Tbilisi Appellate Court.
