Full-Scale Strike in Tkibuli Mines

A full-scale strike started at 06:00 this morning in Tkibuli mines.

Miner demand signing of termless labor agreement; improvement of labor security, adjustment of salaries in accordance with the inflation and price rising, cover of financial arrears of the miners injured in 2010-2011, improvement of labor conditions, etc.

According to Tamaz Dolaberidze, the head of Georgian Trade Union of Metallurgy, Mountain and Chemistry Industry, the strike will last until their demands are met.
The miners had already staged a two-hour token strike on Monday. They were demanding satisfaction of requests imposed on the administration on January 27th at the miners’ meeting.

The Trade Unions of other fields express solidarity to the Georgian Trade Union of Metallurgy, Mountain and Chemistry Industry and the miners. The representatives of Trade Union of Public Officials and Road and Transportation Construction are going to Tkibuli.
