Investigation Office of the Ministry of Finances Inspects Insurance Companies

The investigation department of the Ministry of Finances of Georgia inspects insurance companies. The head of the audit department of the social field at the Chamber of Control Giorgi Alasania reported to the Interpresnews that according to his information, the investigation office will inspect state medical insurance programs implemented by the insurance companies.

Alasania does not clarify whether the investigation office started inspection after the preliminary audit data was published or before it.

Part of insurance companies also confirms the information though they avoid comments on the issue.

According to the preliminary data, in 2008-2010 the companies had 60% profit. Insurance Companies - IC Group, Aldagi BCI and Archimedes Global Georgia had most income.

The Chamber of Control of Georgia makes the Ministry of Healthcare accountable for the lawful management of the state medical insurance programs.
