Giorgi Tsagareishvili Expects the Government to Distribute Ritual Vouchers

February 14, 2011

Member of the political party “Free Democrats” MP Giorgi Tsagareishvili expects the government to distribute ritual vouchers in near future.

Giorgi Tsagareishvili told the Interpresnews that according to the governmental logic the government will soon distribute 40-GEL vouchers to cover expenses for funerals.

“It is painful irony about the current activities of the government,” said Tsagareishvili who thinks every person will receive voucher who cannot endure the reforms and activities of Mikheil Saakashvili.

The MP said that according to the same logic only the members of the National Movement will remain without vouchers.

“Mikheil Saakashvili made the country look like the Soviet Union during Andropov’s governance when people were standing in long queues. Today, Georgia looks like Soviet Union when it was collapsing,” said Giorgi Tsagareishvili.

As for the food vouchers, the MP said the mechanism of this voucher is absolutely unclear. He said when competition regulates the market, how the government will compel the private entrepreneur to sell butter, sugar, etc for voucher.

In addition, Tsagareishvili wonders about the principle to distribute the food vouchers while we already know that families who use much electricity received energy-vouchers but those who cannot waste much electricity they cannot get it.

“Maybe, the families who eat more, will receive the food vouchers but those who do not eat, and starve will remain without those vouchers,” said Giorgi Tsageishvili.
