Military Town of Russian Border Police Opened in Abkhazia

Second military town for Russian border police officers was opened in Abkhazia - the News Agency Apsni Press reported about it.

Residential complex for Russian border police was opened in Okumi village in Tkvarcheli district. The military town is equipped with modern technologies for border protection. Deputy head of the Russian Border Police dislocated in Abkhazia Dimitry Korolov, so-called ambassador of Russia in Abkhazia Semion Grigoriev, vice-prime minister of Sokhumi regime Aleksandre Stranichkin, de-facto leader of Abkhazian Orthodox Church Besarion Aplia and local residents attended the opening ceremony.

Several other military towns of Russian border police officers will be opened in Abkhazia till the end of the year. The first military town was opened in Pichori village in Gali district on December 8, 2010.
